These American Red Cross trainings incorporate the 2010 Emergency Cardiovascular Care standards. They will help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. Participants will learn the skills to provide immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Adult/Child CPR and First Aid certifications are for two years.
CPR Challenge Course

This is a competency testing of skills and knowledge associated with the CPR—Adult and Child course, based on the 2010 Emergency Cardiovascular Care guidelines. THERE IS NO ALLOWANCE FOR REIVEW OR PRACTICE WITH AN INSTRUCTOR. The participant has sole responsibility in preparing for the knowledge and skills test. Anyone is eligible to participate in the challenge. Individuals who do not hold a current American Red Cross Certificate (or equivalent) may participate in the challenge option one time only. Students who successfully complete this course will receive certificates for CPR—Adult and Child which are valid for two years. Contact the DPI office to schedule an Adult and Child CPR Challenge.
